November 11, 2025

A First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against police personnel on duty after four people were injured in a firing incident at the Judicial Complex in Dera Ismail Khan.According to details, the shooting occurred yesterday within the premises of the Dera Ismail Khan Judicial Complex. Despite the presence of the cops at the courthouse, the assailants managed to smuggle weapons inside the compound. The Senior Civil Judge (Administration) registered an FIR against the police officers who were on duty at the time of the incident, holding them responsible for the lapse that led to the attack.

Meanwhile, District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ismail Khan, Sajad Ahmad Sabzada, took swift action and announced the arrest of two suspects involved in the shooting.Teams have been formed to apprehend the remaining culprits, and raids are being conducted in various areas. Strict checking is also underway at all entry and exit points of the city. On the other hand, the security staff deployed at the Judicial Complex has been suspended following the incident.

DPO Dera Ismail Khan stated that no one would be allowed to endanger the lives and property of the public. Only a month earlier, on October 11, the city witnessed a major security lapse when seven policemen were martyred and thirteen were injured in a militant attack on the Police Training Centre in Dera Ismail Khan. The attackers, identified as members of the Fitna al-Khwarij terrorist group, rammed an explosives-laden truck into the police centre’s gate, demolishing the boundary wall and burying a police guard under the debris, who later succumbed to his injuries.

Armed with heavy weapons and wearing various uniforms, the terrorists stormed the training centre located in the Ratta Kalachi area. The fierce exchange of fire continued for several hours, during which the militants repeatedly hurled hand grenades at the security forces. In a three-hour-long operation, the security forces successfully neutralised the attackers and recovered suicide vests, arms, and explosives. Thanks to the timely response, nearly 200 trainees and instructors present at the centre were safely evacuated.
