Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensuring transparency and efficiency in Pakistan's energy markets. He expressed the resolve while chairing a meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Committee in Islamabad  on Wednesday to review the existing pricing structure of the oil and gas sector. The committee discussed pricing framework under the applicable petroleum policy regime.

Members of the committee examined the current mechanisms and explored reform options aimed at improving affordability, sustainability and sectoral performance. Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination, Minister for Power, Minister for Petroleum, Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Adviser on Privatization, Head of Power Sector Task Force and Chairman Federal Board of Revenue also attended the meeting.
