A local court has awarded a 9-year prison sentence and Rs. 80,000.0 fine to a drug peddler in a major narcotics case According to the details, the convict, Muhammad Almas, was arrested by Taxila Police in November 2024 after recovering 2,280 grams of cannabis from him. The prosecution presented strong evidence, leading the court to deliver a strict punishment. The verdict underscores the police's commitment to combating drug-related crimes through effective investigation and legal action. 

City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani, while appreciating the investigation and legal teams for their efforts, reiterated police resolve to eradicate the scourge of drugs from society. "We are taking all necessary measures to eradicate the menace of drugs from society," said the CPO. He further reaffirmed that such operations will continue to ensure public safety and uphold the law.
