ECP organizes voter awareness seminar at Edwardes CollegeBreaking

The District Election Commissioner Peshawar organized a voter awareness seminar at Edwardes College Peshawar on Thursday, aiming to highlight the importance of youth participation in the electoral process. The seminar was attended by District Election Commissioner Zia-ur-Rehim, Assistant Election Commissioner Inayatullah, focal person Dr. Nadia Bashir, and more than 100 female students of the college.

Speakers informed students about the responsibilities of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the significant proportion of young voters in the country, and the measures being taken to enhance voter registration and turnout. They emphasized that 45% of Pakistan’s voter base comprises young voters, underscoring the need for their active involvement in elections.

Participants were briefed on the importance and impact of voting, and were encouraged to play an active role in the democratic process. A practical demonstration of the electoral procedure was also conducted, with students taking part enthusiastically. Prizes were distributed among participants after the mock polling exercise. Attendees appreciated the efforts of the ECP and expressed gratitude for initiatives that promote electoral awareness among youth, particularly female students.
