A two-member team from the Federal Ombudsman Multan visited Cantt Railway Station on Friday to inspect various sections of the station, as well as several offices and facilities of Pakistan Railways Multan Division. The delegation was led by Advisor Rashid Qamar and Investigation Officer Arif Khan Kundi. During their visit, the team held a meeting with the Divisional Superintendent Railways, Mr. Iftikhar Hussain, at his office. Several administrative and public-service matters were discussed in detail during the meeting.
Later, the team proceeded to Cantt Railway Station, where they were joined by Divisional Commercial Officer (DCO) Ms. Ramla Shahid, Divisional Personnel Officer (DPO) Ms. Nabeela Aslam, and other divisional officers. The Federal Ombudsman team inspected various sections of the station, including the restaurant, stalls, cleanliness arrangements, and passenger facilities. They expressed appreciation for the food quality and service at the railway restaurant and also interacted directly with passengers on the platform and aboard the Shalimar Express 28 DN, which was departing for Karachi.
The team also visited the Train Dispatcher’s Office, where the Divisional Transportation Officer (DTO) briefed them on the operational system of train movement. The Federal Ombudsman team expressed satisfaction with the quality of administrative and public-service arrangements in the Multan Division and commended Pakistan Railways for its ongoing improvement efforts.
