The fire that had erupted in the mountains overlooking the ruins of the Gandhara civilization in Takht Bhai tehsil of district Mardan was finally extinguished after the hectic efforts of 12 hours. On the other hand, dozens of trees and precious herbs were reduced to ashes after fires erupted at different locations in the mountainous region of district Khyber.   Different species of birds found in the area were also badly affected by the fires, while the tourists visiting the area faced a lot of inconvenience.
