A massive fire erupted in a spinning unit of Chenab Cotton Mills located in Toba Tek Singh on Saturday which destroyed cotton bales which were lying on the factory premises. According to details, 40 fire-fighters of Rescue 1122 and 10 fire-fighting vehicles took part in the operation to bring the fire under control. District Rescue Officer Faraz Munir supervised the rescue operation.
Rescue sources said that real cause of the blaze could not be ascertained so far. He said that fire-brigade teams from Shorkot and Gojra were also called in. He said the loss is huge the worth of which will be determined after the fire was doused. Additional volunteers were also summoned from surrounding areas to control the fire. He said that it will take some time to bring the fire under control.
