Five people were injured when the elevator collapsed at a private hospital in Nazimabad area of Karachi on Thursday. The injured, including women, were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. One person was killed as lift of a factory malfunctioned and fell in Karachi on March 24,2025. According to details, the lift of a factory located near Shafeeq More in New Karachi area fell after its cable was broken due to overloading.Police and rescue teams rushed to the spot and shifted the body to a hospital. 

According to the police, the deceased was identified as 35-yeal-old Younus, a resident of Mirpur.A month earlier, on February 25, 2025, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab and Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad escaped a disaster when an elevator fell from the fourth floor and got stuck on the first floor of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The incident occurred while the mayor was at the hospital for the opening of the Hemophilia Treatment Center. The lift was overloaded with over 15 people, causing it to get stuck for about 5 to 10 minutes.
