January 10, 2026

Divisional Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar said that five new Tehsils would be added in Faisalabad to ensure quality and prompt civic services for citizens in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Presiding over the meeting , he said that the new Tehsils would raise the total number of tehsils in the district up to eleven. In this connection, a summary regarding the establishment of new Tehsils had been forwarded to the Punjab board of Revenue, he added.

He said that with the rapid growth in Faisalabad’s population, expanding administrative capacity had become inevitable to ensure efficient governance and timely delivery of public services. The decision to create five new Tehsils was aimed at strengthening the administrative framework and bringing government services closer to the people, he added.

He further informed the meeting that all required documentation had been completed at the district level. The final, in-principle approval for the establishment of the new Tehsils, would however be granted by the Punjab Cabinet, he added. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Captain (Retired) Nadeem Nasir presented a detailed report on the proposed Tehsils while the officers of Local Government Department were also present on the occasion.
