The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), in 419 intelligence-based operations conducted in different cities of Punjab during the last two months, has arrested 54 terrorists, including five working for the Indian intelligence agency. The CTD spokesman said on Saturday that the operations were carried out in Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Jhelum and other cities.

He further said that 12 IED bombs, 42 detonators, 98 feet safety fuse wires, banned stickers, books and cash were recovered from the possession of the RAW agents. He informed that the terrorists were identified as Waris, Nasr, Munnawar, Zahid and Inamullah.

The spokesman said those taken into custody wanted to spread fear and panic in people. He went on to say that 1,193 suspected individuals were apprehended in 13,572 combing operations conducted during the last two months, while 494642 persons were questioned.
