A major terrorist attack on the FC (Frontier Corps) line was foiled, in which five terrorists, including a suicide bomber, were killed. According to reports, following the attack on the FC, an intense gunbattle between the terrorists and the security forces continued for several hours, spreading fear and panic in the area due to heavy gunfire.
After the terrorists’ attack, the sound of gunfire and explosions caused widespread fear and chaos in the area. According to police, five terrorists entered the FC line, and security forces engaged them in combat. Nearby residential homes were also damaged due to the gunfire and explosions. There are reports of broken doors and shattered windows in several homes, and local residents were left terrified.
During the operation, all routes leading to the FC line were closed to prevent any interference. DPO Bannu, Saleem Kalachi, was personally present at the scene and led the operation against the terrorists along with a heavy contingent of police. Additional police forces, including the Quick Response Unit, were also called to the site.
According to security sources, the area has been completely cordoned off, and a clearance operation against the terrorists is ongoing. The IG of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stated that a major attack on the FC in Bannu was successfully foiled, with five terrorists, including a suicide bomber, killed. He added that a significant terrorist plot was averted through timely action, and a search and clearance operation is underway in Bannu.
