A high flood alert has been issued in Pindi Bhattian as water level continues to rise in River Chenab, while flood-related devastation spreads across several regions of Punjab. In Multan's Basti Gray Wala, the rising water level has submerged crops over hundreds of thousands of acres. In Shorkot (Jhang district), a medium-level flood has been reported, with a flow of 260,000 cusecs passing under the Sultan Bahu Bridge.
At Darkhana, floodwaters hit the railway bridge, as a result traffic the Shorkot-Khanewal railway section remained suspended for the second consecutive day. In Pindi Bhattian, a high flood alert has been officially issued, with a massive 557,000 cusecs flood wave passing through. In Ahmadpur Sial, a breach occurred in the Samand Wana embankment, flooding several areas and damaging crops.
In Liaqatpur, destructive floodwaters from both the Chenab and Indus Rivers have caused severe damage. Multiple villages have been submerged, along with large swathes of farmland. In Chiniot, rescue operations continued in Thatta Hashmat and village Dom, where 25 people were shifted to safer locations. So far, 1,312 people have been rescued in the area.
In Shujabad, near Sher Shah, the Gagra village's protective embankment was washed away, creating a 200-foot-wide breach, allowing floodwaters to enter nearby settlements. Meanwhile, in Mandi Bahauddin, two young men drowned at separate locations due to floodwaters.
