Flour supply restored in Punjab after govt-mills agreementBreaking

Flour supply has been restored in Punjab after the provincial government reached an agreement with flour mill owners.The move aims to stabilise prices and ensure sufficient availability of essential flour in the market.Sources privy to the development said 800 flour mills across Punjab will reopen starting today. These mills will supply 10kg and 20kg flour bags at official rates, addressing shortages that affected households across the province.

Flour Mills Association officials confirmed that the government will provide 100,000 tons of wheat per month to support the mills. Additionally, multinational companies have committed to supplying 2.5 million sacks of wheat at Rs 3,000 per maund. Representatives of these companies are scheduled to meet the DG Food today to finalize the quantity and distribution process.

Special Assistant for Price Control Salma Butt welcomed the cooperation of flour mills and emphasized that recommendations regarding the wheat and flour crisis are under review. She assured that flour supply will be fully restored in Punjab markets, and the prices of wheat and flour will remain stable.
