On the directions of Deputy Director Punjab Food Authority Rizwan Saeed, food safety operations are continuing across the district to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to the public.
According to official sources, a total of 115 inspections were conducted during the ongoing campaign, resulting in the issuance of 60 improvement notices to various food outlets over violations of food safety standards. Moreover, fines were imposed on 10 outlets, with a total amount of Rs97,000 collected. During the inspections, six food samples were collected for laboratory analysis.
The teams also discarded 1.1 kilograms of expired and substandard food items during the operations. The Deputy Director directed the officials to further strengthen the inspection process to ensure the availability of hygienic and safe food for citizens.
