Former Pakistani senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan has been released from Israeli custody and is now at the Pakistan Embassy in Amman, Jordan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed. Taking to platform X, Ishaq Dar said, “I am pleased to confirm that former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed has been released and is now safely at the Pakistan Embassy in Amman.” He added that Mushtaq Ahmed is in good health and high spirits after his release. The former senator was among the members of the Global Samoud Flotilla detained by Israeli forces during a humanitarian mission.
According to reports, Israel has deported 131 members of the flotilla, including Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, who were subsequently transported to Jordan.Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said the embassy is fully prepared to facilitate Mushtaq Ahmed’s return to Pakistan according to his preference and convenience. He also expressed gratitude to all friendly nations that actively coordinated with Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to secure the senator’s release and assist in the safe deportation of other flotilla members.
