The Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO), in collaboration with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), has established a dedicated help desk at the FTO headquarters to assist taxpayers in filing their tax returns. The initiative aims to simplify the tax return filing process and address common issues like password retrieval for the FBR’s online portal. This comes as the deadline for filing tax returns has been extended to October 14. Trained FBR staff will be available at the help desk to provide assistance, while the FTO office has clarified that queries will only be addressed in person at the Islamabad secretariat. Phone call assistance will not be provided. The FTO office encourages all taxpayers facing difficulties in filing their returns to visit the desk for support. The FTO remains committed to resolving taxpayer issues and facilitating a smoother filing process.
