Gandapur’s statement regarding Kalabagh Dam not party policy: Salman Akram RajaBreaking

September 03, 2025

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja on Wednesday said that Ali Amin Gandapur’s statement regarding the Kalabagh Dam may be his personal opinion, not party policy. Speaking to the media outside the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi, Raja said that PTI’s stance on the construction of the Kalabagh Dam is clear. “Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have reservations.

A project opposed by two provinces is not good for the federation. Unless all stakeholders agree and there is political harmony, such a project cannot be implemented,” he said. He further said that talk of a presidential system is absolutely not his party’s policy. “I have not come across the KP Chief Minister’s statement on this matter, but if such a statement has been made, I will ask Ali Amin Gandapur about it,” he added.

He said, “This parliament cannot pass a constitutional amendment—it is the product of Form-47. Replacing the parliamentary system with a presidential system is simply not possible. False and fabricated cases have been filed against us, but hearings are not being conducted.”

Raja added that, on the instructions of PTI’s founder, he convened a meeting of MNAs and MPAs in Lahore, where Imran Khan’s message was conveyed: “Help the flood-affected people from your own pockets.” He said, “I personally went to Sambrial in Sialkot yesterday. Wherever possible, we are helping flood victims. Our workers are present everywhere and making every effort.”
