Four persons on Thursday were killed and two others critically injured after a suspected gas leak triggered an explosion that caused the roof of a house to collapse in Pindigheb, the Rescue officials said. The blast occurred near the Old Graveyard area, trapping six people beneath the debris, they added. The Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the site and began an operation to pull victims from the rubble.

The officials said four people were initially retrieved, two of whom died at the scene from their injuries. During the search operation, the rescuers later recovered the bodies of two more victims, bringing the death toll to four. The bodies had been identified as Shazil Rizvi, Zulhad, Huzaifa and Saifullah, they added. The bodies were transferred to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.
