The Department of Sociology and Criminology at Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) on Friday organized a one-day seminar on “Digital Harassment and Abuse Against Women and Girls” to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.According to a spokesperson,the event held in collaboration with the District Women Protection center,Sialkot and the Punjab Women Protection Authority,focused on rising cases of online harassment,cyber-bullying and blackmailing. 

Speakers urged students to stay aware,follow safe digital practices and understand relevant laws. Head of the District Women Protection Centre,Imran Kisana was the main speaker.Shahid Ishaq from the Social Welfare Department Punjab and female officers from the Punjab Women Protection Authority also addressed the participants. Chairperson of the department,Prof.Dr.Yasir Nawaz Manj highlighted the importance of digital safety and youth involvement in preventing online abuse.Faculty members and students participated actively.
