The wheel-jam strike, being observed by goods transporters against heavy traffic fines, entered into its fifth day on Friday. In Karachi, a large number of vehicles transporting goods are present at the Hawksbay area, and the process of loading, unloading, and delivering goods has been halted. The goods transporters said that they will not end their strike till acceptance of their demands.
In Lahore, goods transporters continued their strike on the fifth day, and after four hours of negotiations between the Punjab government and goods transporters, different committees were constituted for resolving of goods transporters' demands. Officials from the traffic police, environment department, RTA, and members from goods transporters were included in the committees.
A notification has already been issued in this regard; these committees will submit their proposals within seven days to the Punjab government. It is necessary to mention here that public transporters already announced to end their strike two days before, and Mini Mazda and goods transporters announced that to would continue their strike.
In Multan, goods transporters sit-in on the Bahawalpur Byepass continued on the fifth day against the Traffic Rules 2025. Goods transporters said that their sit-in will continue till the Punjab government issues a notification after negotiations with the Punjab government.
