A proposal has been made to reduce the powers of the officers of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in the federal budget 2023-24. As per the official sources, it was proposed to reduce the powers of the FBR officers regarding the arrest of taxpayers. It was suggested to empower the FBR officers to make arrests only if tax evasion is proven.
