A function on Kashmir Solidarity Day, today, was held at Alhamra Hall in Lahore. Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Ms Azma Bukhari, Parliamentary Secretary Ms Shazia Rizwan, and Punjab Information and Culture Secretary Tahir Raza Hamdani were the guests of honour. Azma Bukhari, Ms Shazia Rizwan and Tahir Raza Hamdani in their separate addresses reiterated the resolve of the Pakistan government to give Kashmiris moral, political and diplomatic support at national and international forums.
They said India has been committing the worst kind of human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, adding that the government and the people of Pakistan would support their Kashmiri brethren in their freedom struggle till complete success. From the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Engineer Mahmood and Gulshan Iqbal delivered detailed addresses, highlighting the just struggle of the Kashmiri people.
They urged the world powers and the international community to fulfll their responsibility by granting Kashmiris their fundamental rights including the right to self-determination so that permanent peace could be established in the region. Following the program, a Kashmir Solidarity Walk was also held to reaffirm collective support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
