Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi delivered a strongly worded speech during a ceremony in Attock, emphasizing Pakistan’s military readiness and vowing a resolute response to any aggression from India. His remarks come amid escalating regional tensions and renewed concerns over water rights and border security. While addressing the gathering, Abbasi claimed that Pakistan had successfully downed six Indian warplanes within its borders, and reiterated the country's ability to respond decisively.
"We have 22 Indian posts in our sights, and our F-16s are ready. Pakistan is fully capable of giving a befitting reply to any hostile move," he stated. Reflecting on past military engagements, Abbasi said that when the Pakistan Army launched retaliatory missile strikes, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought international intervention. "Pakistan has avenged the martyrdom of its 33 soldiers. This nation will never forget their sacrifice," he added, lauding the unity and resilience of the Pakistani people.
"When the Noor Khan Air Base was attacked, the entire nation stood up and rallied around our forces. This is the spirit that defines us."Abbasi also referenced earlier statements made in Rawalpindi, where he issued a stern warning over water rights. "If India stops our water, we will stop its breathing. Our missiles Ghauri, Ghaznavi, and Shaheen were not built for display. All are pointed at India," he said, underscoring Pakistan’s nuclear and missile capabilities. He accused India of using the Pahalgam bus attack as a pretext to pursue its true objective: undermining the Indus Waters Treaty.
Abbasi appealed to the international community to ensure India adheres to the treaty, warning that any violations could severely destabilize regional peace. Highlighting the integration of Pakistan Railways into national defense strategy, Abbasi announced that the railway network had been placed under the full operational control of the armed forces. “Whenever required, our military can use the railway system to transport weapons or for any other strategic purpose,” he said. The Minister concluded by reaffirming Pakistan’s status as a responsible nuclear power. "Our missiles are always ready. Any misadventure by India will be met with a serious and swift response," he warned.
