April 09, 2024

In line with special directives issued by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab Health Department has announced plans to ensure adequate medical staffing across the province during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr holidays. These measures aim to address potential medical emergencies that may arise during the festive period. Emergency departments at all divisional, district headquarters, tehsil headquarters, and other hospitals throughout Punjab will be fully staffed with emergency personnel. This includes the presence of surgeons, physicians, specialists, technicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals. Crucially, these staff members will be required to remain on call and refrain from taking leave without prior authorization.

The Health Department spokesperson for Faisalabad Division confirmed these arrangements, emphasizing their commitment to providing timely medical assistance during the Eid holidays. Hospitals have also been instructed to maintain sufficient stocks of essential medicines within their emergency units. This initiative by the Punjab government is intended to ensure a safe and healthy Eid celebration for all residents of the province by guaranteeing access to vital medical care during the holidays.
