The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has dismissed a petition filed by Independent Newspaper Corporation (Pvt) Limited against Arif-ul-Kabeer Siddiqui, son of Abdul Kabeer Siddiqui. The case was heard by Mr. Justice Muhammad Azam Khan, who upheld the earlier judgment dated November 12, 2024, finding no grounds to overturn it.
The petitioner, Independent Newspaper Corporation, had sought to set aside the judgment passed on November 12, 2024, by respondent no. 2, claiming it was flawed. However, the IHC ruled that the petitioner’s counsel failed to demonstrate any illegality, irregularity, or jurisdictional defect in the original order. The court described the November 12 judgment as "detailed and well-reasoned."
In its order, the IHC applied the doctrine of Limine Control, which allows for the dismissal of petitions lacking merit at the preliminary stage. The court concluded that the petition was devoid of substance and dismissed it in limine. This ruling marks the conclusion of the legal challenge brought by Independent Newspaper Corporation against Arif-ul-Kabeer Siddiqui, reinforcing the validity of the earlier decision.
