IHC seeks replies from CDA, municipal corporation in stray dogs culling caseBreaking

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday issued notices to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Municipal Corporation (MC) in stray dogs culling case.Nilofar, an eyewitness, told the court that on October 9, she saw a van near the CDA office which was carrying carcasses of several dogs. The court also accepted her miscellaneous application for becoming a party to the case.

Altamash Saeed, a lawyer, told the court that the CDA and municipal corporation staffers shot dead stray dogs. “In this regard a policy had been devised in 2020,” he informed. He prayed to the court to seek explanation from the concerned officials.Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro remarked that if the concerned officials confirmed that the dogs had been killed, an FIR would be lodged. Later the court adjourned the case’s hearing.
