The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to launch a major operation against illegal constructions in private housing societies of Islamabad.Operation will target illegal residential and commercial constructions on convenience and public building plots.CDA also decided to take action against violations of the approved layout plan.Illegal constructions identified in Bahria Town, Jinnah Garden, Multi Gardens and Tele Gardens.
CDA issued notices to those constructing on public facility plots in various housing societies.DG Special Planning Ijaz Ahmed Sheikh recommended strict action against violations.According to CDA, illegal buildings are being constructed without building plan approval.Building plan approval has been made mandatory under ICT Building Control Regulations 2020.Continuing new constructions on facility plots is a worrying situation.Photos of illegal constructions have been sent to the concerned officers for immediate action.
CDA directed the Building and Housing Control Wing to take immediate action on violations.The campaign intensified to prevent commercial and residential use on land allocated for public facilities. Under CDA Ordinance 1960, action will be taken to demolish illegal buildings.Action against illegal constructions will also be taken under the ICT Zoning Regulations, 1992. Violation of the approved layout plan will not be tolerated under any circumstances, the CDA warned.
