Indian aggression will not be tolerated: AJK PMBreaking

May 08, 2025

Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, has said that Indian aggression will not be tolerated under any circumstances and reaffirmed his government’s firm commitment to stand by the people living along the Line of Control (LoC) during these critical times. The Prime Minister made these remarks while chairing a high-level emergency meeting convened to assess the situation emerging from recent Indian hostilities along the LoC.

The meeting was attended by Senior Minister Colonel (R) Waqar Ahmed Noor, Minister for Information Pir Mazhar Saeed Shah, Minister for Health Dr. Nisar Ansar Abdali, Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, and other senior officials. During the session, PM Anwarul Haq ordered the establishment of a Central Emergency Response Center, which will operate round-the-clock to coordinate emergency operations.

The center will include divisional commissioners, DIGs, DCs, and SSPs, and will provide regular updates directly to the Prime Minister. Instructions were also issued for the creation of an Emergency Health Response Center and an Emergency Information Response Center under the Health Department and Information Department (PID), respectively. These centers will maintain 24/7 communication with the central response unit and keep authorities and the public fully informed on all developments.

Meanwhile, former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Ambassador, Sardar Masood Khan, strongly condemned India’s unprovoked and unjustified attacks on civilian populations in AJK, calling it a blatant violation of the UN Charter and international law. “This is a criminal, unprovoked act of war. Pakistan has retaliated justly and robustly,” said Khan. The Indian assault tragically claimed the lives of three civilians, including an 80-year-old muezzin, and critically injured an eight-year-old girl in Muzaffarabad.

Terming the incident as “naked aggression,” Sardar Masood Khan stressed that Pakistan’s response is legitimate under Article 51 of the UN Charter, which upholds a nation’s right to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Khan urged the international community to take urgent notice and hold India accountable for endangering regional peace and stability. He also praised the unwavering resolve of the people of Pakistan and Kashmir and paid tribute to Pakistan’s Armed Forces for delivering what he described as a “just and punitive” response to Indian aggression.
