Indian forces personnel during massive crackdown operations have arrested over 500 youth in Kulgam and other areas of the Kashmir valley of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. According to Kashmir Media Service, the operation was jointly launched by Indian forces personnel associated with Rashtriya Rifles, Central Reserve Police and Special Operation Group.
In order to justify mass arrests, Indian forces labeled the detainees as over ground workers, and persons with past involvement in anti-India and pro-freedom activities The arrests were made on the pretext of Monday’s attack in the Behibagh area of Kulgam, in which a former Indian Territorial Army man was killed and his wife and daughter were injured. A senior police officer, speaking to the media, confirmed the arrests, stating.
“We have launched a massive operation across the valley to identify and apprehend individuals with links to militant networks. More than 500 suspects have been detained for questioning to identify the perpetrators of this crime and prevent any such further attacks.” The Indian forces personnel have launched a large-scale search operation in the villages and surrounding areas of Kulgam district.
