Police in Rawalakot Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) have arrested a youth who had spied for India. As per the FIR registered at Panjgran police station of Muzaffarabad on July 23 under the Official Secrets Act, Muhammad Ubaid Jahangir, son of Muhammad Jahangir, provided the Indian intelligence.

RAW the GPS location of Bilal Mosque Nullah Shawai in Muzaffarabad on WhatsApp besides sharing with them other details in lieu of hefty amounts that helped the enemy country attack the mosque. Apart from that, he also shared with the RAW information about other installations.

According to the locals, Ubaid belonged to Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT) (Jamaatud Dawa), a banned militant outfit, and his uncle, Shaukat, son of Summundar, was one of the leading figures of the LeT in the area and also an administrator of a mosque. Locals have further said that Ubaid’s family had migrated from the Indian Occupied Kashmir and settled in Rawalakot.
