Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar will pay an official visit to Russia next week to attend Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) heads of government council meeting in Moscow.Diplomatic sources said that the SCO meeting will be held on November 17-18. The meeting will be presided over by the Russian Federation.

During his visit, Ishaq Dar will hold a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov.Diplomatic sources said that he will also meet with different world leaders who will participate in the meeting.  Indian Minister of External Affairs J Shankar will also attend the meeting, but there is no scheduled meeting between the two foreign ministers.

The participants of the meeting will review the draft action plan for 2026 to 2030 for the expansion of trade ties between all the member countries. During the meeting, the participants will review the implementation of different decisions that were taken during the SCO summit in Tianjin, China. Diplomatic sources further revealed that during the meeting, the participants will hold talks on energy cooperation. The last SCO Summit was held in China in August.
