After the repair of railway track, the train service was resumed on both up and down tracks in Shikarpur following derailing of Jaffar Express. Earlier, Jaffar Express escaped a major disaster as one bogie of the power van was derailed near Shikarpur. The incident occurred at the Mandi Phatak area of Shikarpur. The train was going Peshawar from Quetta. No loss of life was reported from the site the incident. Pakistan Railways sources said that train service was suspended on both up and down tracks.

Rescue teams from Sukkur were summoned to start repairing work. Railway police sources stated that all passengers remained safe as the train's speed was low. However, passengers faced serious difficulties due to the train's derailment. One passenger reported that the train stopped suddenly after a shock, causing passengers to start screaming. Children and women also felt harassed. Pakistan Railways officials stated that they have begun an investigation to determine the real cause of the accident but confirmed that there were no casualties.

They said that after the completion of the repair work, railway traffic will be restored soon. On June 18, 2025, four bogies of a passenger train derailed after a powerful bomb blast blown up the railway track in Jacobabad. Jaffar Express was going to Quetta from Punjab when it met the tragedy but no loss of life was reported from the site of the incident.
