JKLF condemns delaying tactics in Yasin Malik’s court caseBreaking

November 12, 2025

The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has strongly condemned India’s tactics of delaying the ongoing court proceedings of incarcerated party chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik in the Delhi High Court. India’s notorious investigative agency, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), has petitioned the Delhi High Court to convert Yasin Malik's life sentence in a fabricated case into the death penalty.

Speaking via video link from Tihar Jail on Monday, Yasin Malik revealed that since the NIA filed its petition for the death penalty, he has been subjected to relentless psychological torture. Citing the NIA’s delaying tactics, Malik called on the two-judge bench to expedite a verdict in the case. However, the court has now scheduled the next hearing for January 28, 2026.

JKLF chief spokesman Muhammad Rafiq Dar, in a statement issued in Islamabad, expressed serious concern over the NIA’s request for in-camera proceedings during the court hearing. He argued that such a move was intended to conceal key facts of the case and deprive Yasin Malik of a fair trial.

Dar further warned that allowing such a request would essentially pave the way for a one-sided trial, orchestrated by the government. He also highlighted that Yasin Malik’s solitary confinement for over six years, coupled with inadequate medical treatment in Tihar Jail, has put his life in danger.
