Syed Mustafa Kamal, Federal Minister for National Health Services and Regulations, inaugurated the Hyderabad Campus of Iqra University in a ceremony held at the new premises on Autobahn Road, Hyderabad. The event marked a significant milestone for the university, which continues to expand its presence as one of Pakistan’s leading higher education institutions. Anis Ahmed Kaimkhani, Deputy Convener of MQM Pakistan, attended the ceremony as the Guest of Honour.

Commending the initiative, the Federal Minister described the Hyderabad Campus as a major step forward by Iqra University in the second-largest city of Sindh. He expressed appreciation for the university’s modern infrastructure and lauded its growth under the vision set forth by its founder, Mr Hussain Lakhani, noting that the institution now stands among the country’s foremost universities with an international profile. “For a city of over three million people, having Iqra University has long been a cherished dream.

Hyderabad has always been a cradle of intellect and talent, and this campus marks a significant step in nurturing the city’s immense potential. I hope IU Hyderabad goes beyond academics to shape character, instill values, and build responsible citizens for the future. And if there’s ever a challenge, know that we are just a call away,” said the Federal Minister for National Health Services and Regulations at the inaugural ceremony.

Vice Chancellor Dr Nassar Ikram echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that the Hyderabad Campus is designed to bring market-relevant, future-focused education to the youth of Sindh.“The value we are presenting to Hyderabad is quality education in programs of market needs, fully backed by hands on and experiential learning. May this campus stand as a beacon of knowledge, of innovation, and of pride for Hyderabad, and Sindh.

”Moreover, Chairman Naveed Lakhani highlighted that the new campus would expand academic opportunities for students from Hyderabad and interior Sindh. He said: “This campus is not just a physical space but an opportunity for the youth of Sindh to engage with the future. With programs in Artificial Intelligence and other emerging fields, students will be able to learn, innovate, and excel without having to leave their hometowns. We aim to provide them with the tools and guidance to grow in life and to contribute meaningfully to the progress of Pakistan.”

To recognise academic excellence, Iqra University also announced merit-based scholarships, including up to 100 percent tuition waivers for board toppers, high achievers, and sports gold medalists. The establishment of the Hyderabad Campus underscores Iqra University’s mission to make world-class education accessible across Pakistan. With its cutting-edge facilities and forward-looking academic programs, the campus is poised to become a hub of innovation, creativity, and opportunity for the youth of Sindh.
