Karachi receives first rainfall of winter season  Breaking

Karachi and several other areas of Sindh received the first rainfall of the winter season which will continue till tomorrow. According to the Met Office, Model Colony, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Federal B Areas, Shahrah-e-Pakistan, Saudabad, New Karachi, Nazimabad, Safura, Clifton, Scheme No. 33 and Lyari also received heavy rainfall.Other Sindh cities, including Shikarpur, Jacobabad and Dadu, also received rain.It rained cats and dogs in Daharki in upper Sindh, which turned the weather quite cold.

However, the rain did not come without inconvenience as the supply of electricity to different localities of the city was suspended after several feeders tripped. Likewise, Ubauro and its outskirts also received showers.On the other hand, farmers are happy that the rain would prove beneficial for the wheat crop. Rain, snow lash KP, AJK, GB, Balochistan  The rain spell also lashed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) as Neelum Valley and Kalam received rain and snowfall in mountainous regions.

Heavy rain was also reported from parts of eastern Balochistan as water entered people’s homes and damaged houses. There were also reports of showers from different parts of south Punjab, which resulted in considerable drop in temperatures in these areas.Light rain in and around Uch Sharif increased the intensity of the cold weather.

The Met Office said that the minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 8 degrees Celsius, while it would touch 22 degrees Celsius later in the day. Similarly, Liaquatpur and surrounding areas also received the first rainfall of the winter season due to which temperatures plunged. The level of moisture in the city in the morning was recorded at 76 per cent.
