Kashmir Traders Association raises alarm over business slump in IIOJK Breaking

May 24, 2025

The Kashmir Trade Alliance (KTA) has raised serious concerns over the ongoing economic downturn in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), warning of a worsening crisis for local businesses.  According to Kashmir Media Service, KTA President Aijaz Shahdhar, in a statement issued to the press, painted a grim picture of the current business environment in the territory.

“Shops may be open, but business is virtually at a standstill,” Shahdhar said. “There is a visible absence of consumer spending, and overall economic activity has nearly ground to a halt.”  The KTA urged the IIOJK administration to announce a comprehensive stimulus package to support struggling businesses. “Without such financial relief, many establishments may be forced to shut down permanently,” he warned.
