Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi has said that the provincial government is providing direct relief to farmers through the Ehsaas Fuel Support Programme, aimed at reducing agricultural costs and boosting wheat production.

Under the programme, eligibility is limited to farmers who have cultivated wheat during the current season, said a press release, adding farmers owning up to 12.5 acres of land are entitled to benefit from the scheme.

The verification of wheat growers is currently underway, with field staff of the Agriculture Department conducting on-ground assessments to ensure that only deserving farmers receive assistance. The initiative is expected to not only provide immediate financial relief to farmers but also contribute to increased agricultural output, self-sufficiency, and overall economic stability in the province.
