Security has been put on high alert in Lahore following the deadly suicide blast in Islamabad on Friday. According to Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana, special security arrangements have been made at Imambargahs, mosques and other religious places across the city.
He directed police authorities to ensure strict security at public places and markets, while surveillance at the city’s entry and exit points has been further tightened. Supervisory officers have been instructed to remain active in the field and maintain continuous monitoring, with police teams assigned to closely watch identified hotspot areas.
The CCPO said monitoring of roads and sensitive locations will continue through the Safe City Authority’s camera network. He also urged citizens to immediately report any suspicious activity by calling 15 or contacting their nearest police station. Suicide bombing during Friday prayers inside a mosque and Imambargah in Islamabad on Thursday killed 32 people and injured more than 170 others.
