The Sindh government has cancelled leaves of all local government staffers and activated emergency response measures due to the coming monsoon season.Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the local government holidays were cancelled and arrangements had been made to ensure immediate drainage of rainwater in vulnerable parts of the city. He stated that measures were in place to ensure the availability of dewatering pumps in low-lying areas.
Sharjeel Memon further informed that a Rain Emergency Centre had been established and would remain operational round the clock.The Sindh Senior Minister said that 59 old buildings have already been declared as “dangerous,” including 10 buildings that are national heritage. He advised the general public to extend their full cooperation and vacate these buildings on priority to avert any untoward incident.
