A man died and a woman received critical injuries when a pedestrian railway bridge collapsed at Khanewal Junction. According to details, the bridge was in poor condition. Deceased Ikram was performing his duties as a senior ticket checker (STC) when part of the bridge came down.
Soon after receiving the report of the incident, Rescue 1122 team reached the spot and shifted the dead and injured woman to hospital. Sources further revealed that the railway bridge was constructed before the birth of Pakistan and was the only bridge being used by passengers to cross the track.
