A number of lawmakers belonging to the ruling coalition did not attend the breakfast hosted by the government in their honour on Monday morning ahead of the crucial Senate session in which 27th Constitutional Amendment Bill, 2025, was to be presented for approval. The breakfast was arranged by Leader of the House in the Senate, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. 

However, only 24 Senators appeared at the breakfast venue. They included members of the Upper House of the Parliament from PML-N, PPP, MQM and independent senators including Naseema Ahsaan Shah.  Talking informally to the media men, Senator Danesh Kumar said “I broke bread at government-hosted breakfast and will stay with them.”  He further said there were a number of dishes in the breakfast but he only ate paratha and halwa.
