Two earthquakes of magnitude 3.2 jolted different parts of Karachi late Sunday night, prompting people to step out of their homes. The first shocks were received at Malir, Quaidabad and at other places at 1:03 AM, while the second shocks shook the port city three minutes later at 1:06 AM, creating panic among the residents. The epicenter of the quake was near Quaidabad at a depth of 10 kilometers.
However, there were no reports of casualties or damage, officials confirmed. This is not the first seismic activity reported in the city this year. A few months ago, a moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7 struck Karachi and surrounding areas. It had a depth of 19 kilometres as recorded by the Earthquake Monitoring Center, with its epicentre located 75 kilometres north of Karachi.
