Mock fire exercise held to ensure public safetyBreaking

Rescue 1122 on Saturday conducted a mock fire drill at Rehman trade center on University road to test emergency response and fire safety procedures. According to a spokesperson,the exercise led by District Emergency Officer Mazhar Shah,included practical demonstrations by firefighters and emergency teams. Deputy Commissioner(DC) Captain (R) Muhammad Waseem inspected the drill and appreciated the preparedness and timely response of Rescue 1122.

He directed that all commercial buildings,markets and high-rises maintain fire safety equipment,clear exit routes, and proper signage,warning that negligence would not be tolerated. Assistant Commissioner Shireen Gul stressed the need for improved coordination between the administration and Rescue 1122 and highlighted the importance of public awareness on fire safety.

Mazhar Shah said the exercise aimed to test immediate response,rescue operations and firefighting procedures. He added that Rescue 1122 was fully equipped and trained to handle emergencies. The initiative follows Chief Minister(CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s directives to implement fire safety measures,conduct audits and organize mock exercises across the district to protect lives and property.
