Thick fog again blanketed several areas of Punjab and Sindh on the night between Sunday and Monday, paralyzing routine life and disrupting road traffic on the Motorways due to low visibility. A spokesman of the Motorway Police said that the thick fog has badly affected the flow of road traffic in several cities of Punjab and Sindh.

The spokesperson also said that the Motorways, including M2 from Thokar Niaz Baig to Hiran Minar, M3 from Darkhana to Faizpur, M4 from Pindi Bhattian to Abdul Hakeem, M5 from Zahir Pir to Rohri, and M11 from Lahore to Sambrial, have been closed to all types of traffic. The Motorway police have also requested people to stay home and avoid unnecessary travelling. Dense fog has also disrupted traffic at several places on the National Highway due to low visibility.

Dense fog also engulfed Pattoki, Phool Nagar, Okara, Sahiwal, Kaswal, Iqbal Nagar, Chicha Watni, Mian Channu, Khanewal, Multan, Basti Malook, Lodhran, Bahwalpur and Rahim Yar Khan. The Motorway police have appealed the drivers to use the Grand Trunk (GT) Road for travelling. They have also urged the drivers to drive slowly and switch on fog lights. The Motorway police also urged people to prefer to travel during daytime from 10 am to 6 pm and not to violate lane discipline.

Travellers seeking assistance or real-time updates were directed to contact the Motorway Police helpline at 130. Officials said the affected motorways would be reopened once weather conditions improve and visibility returns to acceptable levels.
