An MPhil student was allegedly shot dead by her cousin after refusing his marriage proposal in Punjab's Khanewal district. According to the police, the incident took place in Faridpur, within the jurisdiction of Sarai Sidhu Police Station in the 12-Mile area. The suspect, identified as Zeeshan, allegedly opened fire on his cousin, Nazish Razaq, after she rejected his marriage proposal. Police said the victim sustained fatal gunshot wounds and died at the scene.

Officers reached the location shortly after receiving information about the incident, secured the area and began collecting evidence. Following the completion of initial legal formalities, the victim's body was shifted to the Civil Hospital in Kabirwala for a post-mortem examination. Police have launched an investigation into the killing and are pursuing legal action in accordance with the law.
