Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, and President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Amir Muqam expressed optimism that the issues of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and the prevailing situation would be resolved soon.
Speaking to the media after a meeting of the high-level committee formed by the Prime Minister of Pakistan with AJK leadership, Muqam said the government had agreed on several points raised by the AJK representatives, while other constitutional matters remained under discussion.
He noted that the dialogue was held in a constructive environment, with both sides listening to each other carefully. The AJK leaders, he added, had sought time to consult with other leaders and stakeholders before moving forward. The minister also stressed that protests were not beneficial for anyone.
