July 18, 2025

All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter leader Syed Faiz Naqshbandi has sent a petition to UN Secretary General, UN Headquarters, New York, seeking his attention towards grim situation of human rights abuses in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK).

Syed Faiz Naqshbandi in his petition said that supreme spiritual and religious leader of people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has been constantly debarred from offering Friday prayers and delivering Friday sermon and even grand mosque is locked down while other APHC leaders in Indian jails are in pathetic conditions.

He said people there have no basic rights, freedom of expression and free assembly have been snatched. Forced disappearances of people have become the order of the day, he added. He also stressed the appointment of the Secretary General’s UN Special Representative on Jammu and Kashmir who shall visit Indian jails and IOJK to assess human rights violations there.

Syed Faiz Naqshbandi said 19th July is the most important and historic day in the political history of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, as it was on this day in 1947 that the people of the territory, through their legitimate political representatives, unanimously adopted a resolution to accede to Pakistan.
