National Assembly Secretary-General Tahir Hussain tendered his resignation with effect from January 1, 2026.National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq accepted the resignation of Tahir Hussain.Tahir Hussain, Secretary General, National Assembly Secretariat, is a seasoned and senior bureaucrat from the Pakistan Administrative Service.

With over 35 years of active service, he has served in key positions at the district, provincial, and federal levels across Baluchistan, Punjab, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan. His extensive career includes roles as Federal Secretary, Chief Secretary, Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary,Commissioner,Deputy Commissioner, and Assistant Commissioner.  Since December 2017, he has been serving as the Secretary of the National Assembly, bringing a wealth of experience and leadership to the role.
