Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif's nomination papers for the upcoming general elections have been accepted after facing no objections in Lahore. Returning Officer Asghar Joya accepted Sharif's papers for constituency NA 130 following scrutiny, paving the way for the former Prime Minister's re-election bid. Notably, no challenge was filed against his candidature, clearing the hurdles for his participation in the February 8th polls. Buoyed by the development, PML-N leader Bilal Yasin expressed confidence in Sharif's victory, predicting not only his success in NA 130 but also his ascension to the Prime Minister's office for a fourth term. Adding weight to Sharif's legal team's assertion that his case meets all legal requirements, lawyer Amjad Pervez pointed to the Election Commission's portal which confirmed completion of all necessary formalities by the veteran politician.
