Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa has clarified that there is currently no plan to construct a cricket stadium in the capital. Speaking to the media, he said that instead, 25 cricket and 25 football grounds will be developed across the city. He added that while a meeting with PCB was held regarding a possible stadium, experts will decide the location if such a project is pursued in the future.
Randhawa noted that existing cricket grounds in Islamabad are in poor condition and pitches will be upgraded to international standards. He further said Rashid Latif is assisting in the upgradation of grounds at F-9 Park. Earlier reports suggesting construction of a stadium in F-9 Park had drawn criticism, after which CDA clarified no such project was planned there.
